Minister - Reverend Bryan

Rev. Bryan Ransom is our current interim minister.
Most of his childhood was lived in a rural community called Fitzroy Harbour, about an hour’s drive northeast Ottawa.
He is the oldest of 6 children. During his teens, he helped the local farmers with general farm work, haying and milking cows.
Upon completing his M. Div. he was ordained in his home church, St. Andrews United Church in Fitzroy Harbour. It was an unprecedent move by the Ottawa Conference and one that enriched the ministry of his home church.
He is married, have three thriving adult children who all live in the area. Roberta and Bryan are blessed with three delightful grandchildren.
He retired from full-time ministry in 2019 after 36 years of ministry. Bryan and Roberta enjoy their time visiting, babysitting and doing things together. He continues to do part -time ministry, helping congregations through their transition periods as they search for a minister. This is the fourth pastoral charge that he has assisted over his retirement years.
While assisting congregations in this way over the past several years, he has also helped a number of seniors by doing maintenance work around their homes such as lawn and garden care, shoveling snow, and doing repair work, all in the hopes that this enables them to live in their homes longer.
During his free time, as a home owner, he has been doing a number of home renovations. He enjoys walking, cycling, spending time with friends, reading and cherishing time with grandchildren.
He looks forward to the coming months at Brooklin United Church during which we will learn about each other on a deeper level as we minister together in Christ’s name.
The search for a permanent ordained minister is underway.
